Ark\u00f6sunds Hotell \u2013 newly built but with 130 years of history in its walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are now open all year round, so you can enjoy the archipelago in all seasons.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With us, every moment counts \u2013 whether you come to work, celebrate, or just relax. We believe in the power of the personal touch, in the details, in experiences that linger; with a mild sea breeze that cools after a warm day, or a warm fire inside after a stormy day with foaming seas. In June 2025, we reopened after our extensive renovation and expansion, ready to create experiences, memories, and enjoyable dining experiences \u2013 all months of the year. But our beautiful building has stood proudly since the turn of the century. It began with plans for a deep-sea port and a railway out to the small fishing community of Ark\u00f6sund. But the future caught up \u2013 the steam engine took over, the port plans fell through, and instead, a summer idyll was born. Here, at the outermost edge of the archipelago, a recreational resort was created for the city’s manufacturers and socialites. Villas designed by Verner Northun sprung up, people bathed in the cold bathhouse, and socialized in the restaurant on Kvarnberget. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hotel opened in 1895 with 13 rooms, tiled stoves, and kerosene lamps. Here, Miss Signe Borg served her special suppers to whiskey-drinking gentlemen and sherry-sipping ladies \u2013 something we know thanks to her preserved accounting. The guests were then, as now, called “bathing guests,” and for many decades Ark\u00f6sund teemed with life. Even royalty has passed through \u2013 their names are inscribed on the stone behind the hotel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2016, we at \u00d6stg\u00f6ta K\u00f6k have proudly managed the hotel’s legacy. Our philosophy has always been simple: cook fantastic food from scratch, with love, and with really good ingredients, as much as possible from the \u00d6sterg\u00f6tland soil.We want to create a vibrant place where history meets the future \u2013 where meetings become memories and every moment counts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our beautiful turn-of-the-century building located right by the water in the heart of the \u00d6sterg\u00f6tland archipelago, we offer opportunities for successful meetings with colleagues, friends, or your loved one, with classic archipelago romance and modern comfort. Enriched by our fine partners, we offer tours out into the archipelago, cooking activities, wine tastings, lectures, training and wellness experiences, music and art. In addition, we create enjoyable dinners with chef colleagues or ingredients that visit our kitchen. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
